Sonia Herron Academy of Jazz will remain open during the school closures for the next 14 days. We will be making every effort to ensure the protection and health of your children
while attending dance classes. The hygiene procedures will include full cleaning of all facilities twice daily over the next period, compulsory use of hand sanitizer upon entering
the class, and testing of temperatures of all students. Masks are also available on request.
PLEASE DO NOT BRING YOUR CHILD TO CLASS IF THEY EXHIBIT FEVER, COUGH, OR RUNNING NOSE. Your child will be sent home immediatly.

From 6 July - 14 August, we will be offering classes in Jazz, Hip Hop, Tap, Ballet, Acrobatics & Cheerleading, Mime, Puppetry, Musical Theatre, African drumming,
Group Drama, Singing, and Costume making. Session times will be from 9am to 12pm, Monday through Friday. There will be a maximum of 10 children in a session. For children ages 5-11.

Spaces will fill up fast, so please register as early as possible!
Special Guest Tutors July 6th - August 14th
Special guest tutors are being flown in from New Zealand, including a vocal coach and drama specialist, Mr. Evan Davies. Students who participate in the summer programme
will also perform in our annual show. Applications will open April 1st 2009 and forms will be available online or at our studio for pick up.
Rhythm Dance Studio and Sonia Herron Academy of Jazz Present "CIRCUS CIRCUS"
The musical adventures of a young clown struggling to find her place in the world and learning to believe in herself. Watch as the dancers take you through the magical world
of dancing bears, acrobatics, ringmasters, and most of all special friends who help us find our way. Special performances by Chinese Dance, Jazz, Ballet, and Hip Hop
troupes will be showcased during the second half.

Biography
Sonia Herron
- Principal Teacher and Director
Sonia Herron trained in BBO Ballet and Tap from the age of 5. She completed her NZAMD Jazz Solo Seal examination at 15, gaining one of
the highest marks in the country. She began her stage career at 7 years old performing in many musicals and pantomimes, as well as
television shows and commericials. She is an accomplished model with catwalk and commercial experience. She gained the highest marks in
her region in the Trinity College of London Speech and Drama examinations and carried on to complete her performers certificate at age
16. Sonia is also an experienced kindergarten teacher having taught in 3 different continents and has a great passion for teaching
children.
Since then Sonia has graduated from Excel School of Performing Arts, majoring in Performance Dance and Drama. She went on to tour New
Zealand, performing in over 15 locations with a Jazz and Hip Hop dance group.
Sonia taught American Jazz in one of the top dance studios in New Zealand. Her students were consistently awarded top examination
results in New Zealand for their American Jazz Dance examinations.
