Founder and Director

Sonia Herron trained in BBO Ballet and Tap from the age of 5. She completed her NZAMD Jazz Solo Seal examination at 15, gaining one of the highest marks in the country. She began her stage career at 7 years old performing in many musicals and pantomimes, as well as television shows and commericials. She is an accomplished model with catwalk and commercial experience. She gained the highest marks in her region in the Trinity College of London Speech and Drama examinations and carried on to complete her performers certificate at age 16. Sonia has a passion to bring dance to children in third world countries who are held back by poverty and unjust environments, she is currently setting up Dancing for Freedom International a non profit group that will bring dance and financial aid to underprivileged children in Bogota, Colombia.
Sonia has graduated from Excel School of Performing Arts, majoring in Performance Dance and Drama. She went on to tour New Zealand, performing in over 15 locations with a Jazz and Hip Hop dance group.
Sonia taught American Jazz in one of the top dance studios in New Zealand. Her students were consistently awarded top examination results in New Zealand for their American Jazz Dance examinations. Sonia's teaching style focuses strongly on motivating the student to express their true potential and shine from within.
All teachers and Guest Tutors are highly qualified and experienced Dance and Drama instructors who have been carefully selected to represent the beliefs and mission of our Dance Studio.




All teachers go through Jazz Addict teacher training and Trinity College of London on going training days to ensure they are teaching with the most up to date knowledge of syllabus and teaching techniques.
